AEM Wideband (30-2001) and S300 issues.

Post by hayashi »

Hi All,

Long time lurker, first time poster with a plea for help unfortunately.

I've recently installed a brand new AEM wideband (Bosch LSU 4.2) in my H22A swapped Civic, and wired it as follows:

White to D10 ELD pin.
Red to A25 pin (+12v)
Black to a A24 pin (-GRN)

Removed resistors R136 and R138.

So going by the above, I've loaded up the tune in Smanager and changed the Closed Loop wideband input to D10 instead of the default D14. At this point, I've got the car to run in Closed Loop.

I've also set the Voltage/Lambda Conversion Table as per AEMs recommendation:
0v@10
2.29v@14.7
5v@20

I start the car, start datalogging (forgot to record it doh!) and throughout the entire time the ELD voltage remains at 1.6V and doesn't change. AFR is stuck between 12.7 to 12.9:1 no matter how hard or soft I drive the bastard. I then try and switch the pin from D10 to D14 by de pinning from the ECU D connector. Now the damned AFR is stuck at 17.7:1.

I've also attempted to move A25 to an underdash fused connection, with constant 12v when cranking, and A24 was moved to the thermostat housing. Same results. No difference at all.

Looked high and low on these forums, and just by an exhaustive search on the 'net and have come across a number of issues but none like this...yet.

Fairly certain the wideband is fine. I kept it boxed right up until it was installed (yes...I removed the plastic cap before installing it).

I've attached the calibration that I use. Right now, it's just a standard one found on these boards. The motor's fairly standard aside from a set of extractors, semi-straight through exhaust, and intake. The only changes I've made are:
- Changed injector sizing from 270cc (USDM) to 345cc since it's a JDM motor with the larger injectors.
- Removed IACV (blocked off) and disabled IACV error code.
- Removed EGR (blocked off).
- Disconnected the ELD wire from D10 and pinned o2 signal wire to it.

Don't know what else to do, or what to check. Either the wideband won't signal anything higher than 1.6v, or the ELD circuit is busted and won't read anything higher than that.

Any help or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Use a multimeter to measure what the voltage is on the output wire of the wideband controller.
