I recently got a ecu from my friend that I did an engine swap for him, he got from Ha Motorsports. He has been using it on his ls swap with no problems. I inquired it from him after doing a f20b swap.

So tonight I pulled my p13 out my 94 eg with built h22a that it's been running fine with over 2 years. & plugged in the s300. To on the key uploaded the ecu with a h22a stock base map. No start, just spinning. Had fuel pressure & spark but my plugs are pretty much fouled but still sparking.

After the second cranking over smoke just comes out the ecu. Now I'm wondering if I can send it back & get it repaired? What caused this problem when an ecu burns up?

Sorry, we don't repair ECUs. Somewhere in the wiring power is being sent down a signal wire, or a sensor ground, or the a power and ground is switched. The other ECU probably burnt out the some component that smoked in your ECU.

What is the component that burned inside the ECU?
