Hey guys, I'm kind of chasing my tail on this. I've been reading, searching and trying different things to get a proper VSS signal to my Hondata S300 v3. I've tried replacing the VSS with a fresh OEM one, checked wiring, checked continuity with multimeter etc ... All with the same result, no VSS signal in the Hondata.
From some of my research it would seem that the OEM cluster is what sends the speed signal to the ECU. I've removed my OEM cluster as I'm running an AIM MXL dash, I've never noticed that there's an issue since the AIM uses GPS for its speed calculation.
I'd like to know if my research is correct? Do I need to wire the OEM cluster back in, in order to get a proper VSS signal to the ECU? Are there any other alternatives to getting a proper VSS signal to the ECU?
Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm kind of at my wits end with this one.

Re: VSS Signal With No Cluster AIM MXL Pro
What vehicle is this? Early vehicles with cable speed sensors relied on the dash to convert the signal to pulses. Later vehicles feed the speed sensor signal to both the dash and the ECU.

It's a 1999 Honda Civic SiR

Trace the VSS signal wire from the ECU connector to the speed sensor, and check for continuity and shorts to ground or 12V. On the speed sensor check the ground and 12V pins are good.

Re: VSS Signal With No Cluster AIM MXL Pro
Seems like everything is good at the plug, checked for continuity to battery on the black wire which was good, constant battery voltage on the black and yellow wire, and I had some voltage at the blue/white wire (not sure what it's supposed to be since it's the signal wire). All of these were measured between the battery and the sensor with the connector unplugged.

Took the VSS signal wire directly to my jumper harness in a last ditch attempt and I'm still not seeing anything in SManager for speed. Not sure what else to check here :(
