Hondata update/ fuel features not working

Post by Stoney »

My car was tuned a year ago by Vit and everything was working 100%. It is MAP based tune and the AFM has been deleted due to the intake I run. Today to do some logging I had to update my software and FP firmware including a download/upload of the calibration.

Since then, the instaneous mpg scale is pegged at 0, the trip A and B are reading 4mpg and the miles to empty is no where near accurate. The level gauge seems ok though.

As an example today after the flash, the car had just under a half tank, this gave a miles to empty at 44 miles. After 12 miles of easy driving, the miles to empty was beyond 0 , average mpg was 4 and the gauge had dropped a minimal amount as it would of done.

I know Hondata will give the standard " MAP based tuned aren't for road cars" response but everything was working 100% previous to this update, I have always run these tunes for many years with no issues, what has changed and how to fix it ?

It is difficult to answer this since you've indicated that you won't accept our answer. Using a race calibration in a FN2 results in the fuel gauge being less than accurate and the trip computer not calculating correctly. We know this with certainty, which is why we tell people to use the FN2 AFM calibration with VE tables. Therefore if your fuel gauge was working, then either the inaccuracy was not noticeable or you were using a FN2 calibration. Either way the answer is the same - switch to a FN2 calibration, or live with the fuel gauge / trip computer. If using the race calibration then you could check the fuel economy parameters in the calibration, because with stock injectors the fuel gauge is not too bad.

Do you any suggestions for stock injectors and fuel pressure on an FN2 for feed back to the dash ?
