FlashPro Manager not opening

Would really appreciate any help I can get. I just downloaded and installed the Flashpro manager unto my laptop. I have downloaded and installed the drivers. What happens is that when I try to open the manager, I get and error "error 1, unable to start" and the manager is does not open.
I am running windows 8 on a hp laptop, so I am not sure if that could be an issue, or is it that I am doing something wrong during installation. My tuner told me has has connection problems with flashpro using windows 8 so he has to use windows 7 to connect. That speaks of connecting but with me the app just will not open. Just this stupid error.
Can anyone help me?
