CAMCMD and CAM spike to 45 on deceleration

This is the first time I notice this, see the attached screenshot.
4.0.8.0 Kmanager : during deceleration, 30 degree in the cam angle low speed table, the CAMCMD and subsequently the CAM goes to 45 degrees.
This happens everytime during deceleration at this rpm.
I know that "the ECU 'cleans' the VTC solenoid by going to full advance a few times per driving cycle", maybe this is the case?
But what I really want to know is if this "routine" is applied also with VTEC engaged! Because 45 can be too much for the cams I run in this engine.
I can also attach datalog and calibration, but the screenshot tells everything.

Yes, this is VTC cleaning. It usually does it on the first decel after a cold start. I do not believe it will do it above around 4000 rpm.
You always should have a mechanical stop in the VTC to limit cam advance. Relying on a closed loop hydraulic system is not a good idea - there's too many things which can cause the cam to over advance.
