Open/Closed Loop operation

Hello,

I'm just during my calibration process and there is an issue with closed loop operation.

I have Wideband ( 0 - 5V) connected to D10 pin at the ECU.
PARAMETERS/CLOSED LOOP
Narrowband Target Voltage = 2,93V
Wideband Target Voltage = 2,34V
O2 heater = Disabled
PARAMETERS/CLOSED LOOP ADVANCED
Wideband input source = D10 ELD
Voltage offset = -0,29V

Whenever I enable Closed Loop Operation by changing to (either):
- Closed loop -stock sensor (narrowband)
- Closed loop - wideband input (voltage target)
- Closed loop - wideband input (lambda target)
the engine goes totally lean! ARF = 17-18 and the engine jerks.

What can be wrong? Do I miss something?

What is the serial number of the s300 inside the ECU?

From Help, About, what is the version of software you are using?

Post your calibration as well as a datalog showing the problem.

Hi,

s300 serial number: s300-8828
Software version: 2.4.4.0
Calibration: attached
Datalog: I'll add it soon as there is some other issue with the engine now and it won't start.

A voltage offset of 0.29V indicates that there is a problem with either the wideband, the wideband to ECU wiring or the ECU input you are using. The voltage offset should be 0V.

Ok. I'll check the voltage signal directly from wideband and maybe I'll even try using other ecu input (D14 for instance).

However I doubt this would be the main reason.

D14 is not a good input to use as it cannot read the full voltage range. D10 is best, but you must make sure you have removed the resistors as it states in the help file: http://www.hondata.com/help/smanager/wi ... ghtsub=d10

Right. They where in.
They are being removed now I'll let you know if anything has changed (when the engine starts of course).

All right. The engine works fine again. I was lucky not being blown up as the main +BAT wire was accidentally touching the right axle which finaly caused the wire isolation to go off and short circuit to the ground.

Anyway, as an attachment you'll find the log file presenting the problem with closed loop operation.

As mentioned before, the resistors were removed (both R136 and R138). Nothing has really changed.
I have also changed the voltage offset to 0V after removing the resistors.

IS the prior posted calibration the one this datalog was made with?

That calibration is in open loop.

Yes. This is the same calibration except:
Closed Loop engaged
Voltage offset 0V
and maybe tiny fuel difference at the idle.

You must post the exact calibration that was used to make the datalog.

There is no long or short term trim according to this datalog so the o2 sensor may not be warmed up yet. This may be something you need to take to a shop that can look over everything including the wiring to help you resolve the issue.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in my opinion it doesn't need to be a Wideband warming issue nor wiring.
The Wideband lambda sends an analog signal (0-5V) to the ECU at D10 (I can register it and confirm). Besides I can see that signal in ECU reading as AF or Lambda, right? So that leads me to the assumption that there is no wiring issue.
If the signal gets to the ECU shouldn't it be directly used to launch both long and short corrections/trims?

By the way, could you tell me what "Disable ELD" function in Parameteres/Misc does?
