2005 civic k20 swap problems

Post by Gctech »

A friend just made did a k20 swap in his 2005 civic he has a kpro prb ecu everything seem so be wiring correct he bought the plug and play harness , anyway the car does want to start, i already messed with the base map scaling injectors setting up map sensor is forced induction btw.

I ran thru several check points fuel is working as it will flood the engine , does not matter which scale I put on the kpro manager, so I disconect the fuel system and try to start with staring fluid just to rule out a fuel system issue the result was the same, so i moved to ignition spark and I notice spark was sometimes strong and then it will be weak.
though maybe a bad ground yet all seem to be good, he already changed the harness thinking it could be that the issue but problem remains, at this point im leaning towards a wiring ground issue
The ecu was tested in another car and starts runs the car just fine , i cant think of anything else to check so help will be appreciated other than do the wiring all over again.

Thanks

Check grounds first.
Ground #1 from fuel injector harness to valve cover.
Ground #2 from rear frame to valve cover.
Ground #3 from hood latch to manifold.
(Optional) Ground #4 from engine mount to cylinder head (not valve cover)

Make sure immobilizer is not set in kpro, you wouldn't get fuel or spark if it was enabled but double check.

Make sure crank position sensor is the correct one for the car, rewire it if it's different.

Make sure cam sensors are the correct ones for the car.

That's all I can think about (2004 civic k24 swap)
