KManager hangs upon opening

I have not hooked up any ecu to my laptop yet, but simply tried installing KManager on my Windows 7 Pro laptop. I attempted to install the Kmanager USB drivers prior to installing/opening KManager. When I open KManager, it hangs and stops responding. I tried using Windows Task Manager to end the application. That was successful. But when I try to end the KManager ...32 Service, it's not successful. This service simply will not close at all. I must reboot my laptop to get it to close. I've tried this several times.

Also when I attempted to install the KManager USB drivers everything looks successful. I see the drivers listed in the Programs section of the Control Panel. But when I look in the Device Manager, I cannot see it at all. The Hondata instructions say it's not installed if it shows a yellow exclamation, but what do I do if it doesn't show up at all? I've tried installing it twice with the same results.

It could be that anti-virus software is preventing KManager from running. See http://www.hondata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8240

If it is not the anti-virus software then you can try deleting the settings files. With Windows 7:
- open windows explorer
- navigate to C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Hondata\KManager
- delete all the log files in that directory

Hi,
What files would I delete from this directory? Are any of these "Log Files?" Only the "Update" text file looks to be possibly be a Log File.

The file called 'KManager'.

Unfortunately the default settings in Windows are to hide file extensions so that you can't tell that it is KManager.ini

Ok, just to be clear...so I should delete the Kmanager.ini file to help resolve my program hanging/won't start issue?

My application continues to hang every time I try to launch it. I've deleted the .ini file and added it to my Avast anti-virus' Exceptions list and have added to my firewall, ZoneAlarm's allow list.

What else could be causing this?

Try uninstalling your antivirus completely.

That's the problem right there. Avast ignores the exception list and blocks KManager from running. See the anti virus link in my first post.

I was able to simply disable the realtime file protection, and it started working.

I have another question...
I have the S2000 2004 AP2. No calibration exists in the Kmanager software. Where do I get this base calibration?

There's a starting calibration under 'S2000, 2004-2005 AP2'. If you can't see it make sure you have the latest KManager, currently 4.1.1.0

I have the most up-to-date version as you specified.
4.1.1.0

But no calibration exists under S2000>2004-2005 AP2.
There's one under S2000>2000-2003 AP1

What can I do to get the proper calibration?

There is no calibration for an AP2. You will have to use the AP1 calibration and adjust the calibration for the slightly larger displacement.

Ok, is the displacement the only change needed to start off?
Any other recommendations on getting this up and running? Has anyone used this S2000 Kpro for an AP2?

Many people have, they start with the same calibration. You may be able to ask around on forums to see if they will share what they are using.
