MAF error = blown cilynder

Post by Itsuki »

Hi,

We have a Euro R18 with a US ECU and a Flashpro for a US 1.8 civic.

The car is stock, excepting a Injen CAI and a de-cat pipe. We made a MAF calibration just to adjust the MAF sensor with the new CAI and the de-cat. All the day the car was fine, without any knock or strange behaviour. But after a couple of days from the tuning, suddenly the car in a WOT situation, the MAF started to read weird numbers, not corresponding to WOT, so the car went lean, and we had a hole in a piston :-(

What could be the issue to be the MAF failing? How can we check if the MAF needs to be replaced, or that behavior was produced by other elements?

I've uploaded the calibration, a datalog of the car the day of the tuning with everything working fine, and the datalog of the disaster.

Thanks!

We only support the US R18, and cannot guarantee the operation on any other vehicle.

Sure, we are aware of that and we aren't looking to make any claim. But could you take a look on the datalogs to see what could be wrong just to explain what made the MAF read those strange values?

Thanks!
