K24a2 stock 25° vtc with bolt ons. While tuning the car sometimes the cam angle wont follow the commanded angle. I have provided pics.... Becuase it is intermitent (20°hi it was doing it, and then at 30° it wasnt) pics supplied. Maybe dirty clogged sensor/soliniod? Oil pressure light has never come on. Perfict compression 06 k24a2. Thanks

06 k24a2 stock on ep3 ecu kpro v2 drive good. Pulls good. Drove on base map for a year. Went to have it tuned the other day and the cam intermittantly stops following the command -+1-7° then fixes it self right up. Does it during cruise as well. You wouldnt notice it unless u were watching a datalog. Already cleaned all vtec sol/sensors im going to grab a vew vtc oil control valve from an ep3 and a k20z3 to try (heard the k24 one doesnt work well on the ep a3 harness. Also car never has seen an oil pressure light. No knock. Any ideas?

Have you tried the ECU on a known working vehicle?

Well. Heres the story with pics, 06 k24a2 with bolt ons, kpro v2, rbc in my ep, Car pulls great, doesnt feel weird but on data logs it shows the cam has trouble following the command intermitantly at wot between 4500-7000 rpms. It only happens for a split second and comes right back to were its supposed to be. I have been playing with it for a while and so far have changed or checked these things

New grounds
oil pressure 30 psi at idle 80 at wot
tried different maps

Im starting to think my vtc gear is bad... Idk what else it could be. If timing was off a tooth wouldnt the car run like shit and throw a cel? Or look crazy in kpro? I never see below -1°. maybe the ecu? Sensor? Why would it be intermittant and why dont i feel it in the power band? Anyone please help :)

Check and clean the VTC filter in the cylinder head. The next most likely problems is the VTC solenoid and then the VTC itself. Finally it can be a bad connection in the wiring.

So i have this issue. Car runs great always has k24a2 in ep with 5 speed ecu and kpro v2. Every wot pull somewere after the crossover for a split second the cam cannot follow the commanded angle. When this happens you feel knothing. So far i have changed
all grounds
cam sensors
vtc sol
vtec sol
New screens
NEW VTC GEAR
new chain
new tensioner
new guides
hpt lower guide
z3 upper guide
NEW OIL PUMP rsx-s spec
oil pump chain
guides
tensioner

And i stil have the issue. Most people are starting to say screw it just get it tuned. Idk were else to turn... Bad ecu/kpro, wiring idk

Try a known good ECU in your vehicle, or your ECU in another vehicle. That will narrow down the problem.
Can you provide photos of the engine grounds?

I know this is a blast from the past, but wanted to provide the info in case someone else is having the issue.

I ran into the same problem as OP, and went back to look at old logs to see it wasn't doing this. My issue was the oil was almost near the lower dot on the dipstick. I added a bit of oil, and the vtc scribble lines went away. Hope this helps someone.
