failure to upload VIN does not match flashpro

Post by twmmd »

Tried to upload flashpro into a 2009 Si with the above error...code 0x00 Step 2 address 0x000000...VIN does not match. Not sure what the issue is but car seems to run with better mid-range or maybe it is my imagination.......what is the problem here......when I pushed the program button it took some time for the red light to come on and disappeared after just a few seconds.......I saw somewhere that if the radio has not been re-initialized after a battery disconnect that that could have something to do with some sort of problem.....am a novice about computers so not sucre if there truly is a problem but I do get this error code from the manager program.

What is the serial number of the FlashPro? Is this the vehicle that the FlashPro was locked to?

I presume it is locked to the VIN since the VIN number shows up when manager is opened with flashpro attached....serial number FP-SI-US-16889

flash pro 1.9.1.0...........by the way I could not see that the flash pro was locked to the vehicle and could not find the VIN number in the data base of the flash pro when just plugged into the laptop and the manager but not the car (or else I did not look in the right place).......so if it was not locked then likely it would not have downloaded anything..............also by accident I pushed "read protected the calibration".......what harm did I do???..... can this effect flash pro for new calibrations and how do I get it out of there and remove this "read protection" if not necessary and what harm does it mean....can I still do a new calibration after locking to vehicle ??................An interesting note in the manager with flash pro connected to lap top but not to the car reveals "the calibration in this ECU (Civic 2006 US/Canada stock) does not match the ECU type FG2/FA5 Civic 2007-2011 if this ECU is returned to stock then the existing calibration will be lost...do you want to continue which I did not { what in the world does this mean and the referencing 2006 when my car is a 2009 Si purchased from a valid dealer new}...maybe I am just really dense but I sure do not want to mess this ECU up. Reading the instructions that came with the unit there was a comment under create a new calibration to save and name your calibration...I never got a message to do this....maybe all these issues were caused when the flash pro was not locked to the car......but I never got a prompt to lock it after registering.....maybe the guidance sheet dated 5/30/14 is different that 1.9.1.0?? thanks for the help

Download the most recent beta version which is 1.9.3. You should be able to upload your calibrations using that version. If you have read protected the calibration your only option is to overwrite it with a new calibration.
