Analog input sensors working/logging erratically

Post by mo_spec »

I am having trouble with the analog inputs on my s300 v2. Here is what is occurring- at idle or low load conditions or when on the dyno all 4 of the aux sensors work fine, I can drive around the pits they all read fine using onboard and pc logging. At the track is a different story, if you flip the data log on before the pass the log shows zero for all 4 sensors for the entire log but all other logged values record and display correctly. Now here is how I have the sensors wired:

Sensor ground goes to the 2 black wires on s300 board

Signal wires go to the colored wires on s300 board

5v power is sourced as follows- 12v power from straight battery through a 30amp relay then into a 12v>5v buck converter then split into 4 wires and out to the sensors. Previously I had used 4 separate 5v voltage regulators with capacitors to supply each sensor its own 5v source but I had this same issue with it wired like that.

I did not use the 5v supply on the ecu for fear of overloading the circuit with 4 additional sensors.

I have checked all grounds, replaced relays, ohm’d all sensor wiring.

Any help is much appreciated.

What is the serial number of the s300 board inside the ECU?

From Help, About, what is the version of software you are using?

What is different between the track and other times when you are making these recordings?

The only thing i can think of is if the car is rolling forward after the burn out when the switch is hit. When i tested the switch it was sitting still idling VSS at 0. On the dyno using pc logging I hit f9 mid pull and all the sensors log and display fine. I don't think the VSS could have anything to do with it though could it?

Am I missing something obvious?

Post your calibration with the on-board datalog settings you are using.

here are 2 logs they are labeled appropriately.

immediately after the one labeled "Analog sensors not working" was recorded I power cycled the ignition and took another short log (which I don't have) while idling and all of the sensors logged correctly.

It does not look like you have the analog inputs set up correctly in the calibration as they are set up as numbers instead of pressures, percentages, etc.

The one you have labeled as not working the graph appears to have data, the one you have labeled working does not have a whole lot of data in the graph.

I do have them set up as Numbers, that shouldn't affect how they log. I mean if it did affect how it logged i assume it would be wrong all the time, not working sometimes and failing other times. Here are 2 screen shots from the logs I posted before, no settings were changed between the two logs. The only difference is the first log was taken on board with the switch to activate, and the second was a pc log.

Ok so I made some progress.... sort of haha

I took a short data log while the car was running. Here is what I found:

If I pull the log off the ecu using the "Save As" function the analog sensors display incorrectly.

If I pull the log off the ecu using the "Download" function the analog sensors display correctly.

Here are the 2 logs, like I said same log just pulled off the ecu 2 different ways.
