Is it dead and can it be fixed

Okay had a friend install my s300v2 in a p28 something went wrong and when we hooked it up this happened.

Yeah last time i let someone touch expensive parts
Now I have a good known working pr4 with vtec conversion and socketed per directions by myself and the socketing job is perfect now when I open smanager it connects to the s300 just fine now the problem begins I can save a calibration by going to s300 tab then calibration then upload. But if I click the button to upload in the toolbar is says please try again. I tried erasing the ecu that fails and gives same message I get a solid cel with no code but if I cut the jumper then I don't get a cel at all and car sounds like it will start but wont because I don't have stock map sensor any more. Back to the s300 if I load p28 base map with method above that works doesn't wanna start at all. Load my base tune same thing no start now I can retrieve whatever calibration I want from the s300 if I load one with the only method I can use and it does stay there if I turn the key off and back on. There are no lights on on the s300 except for a flashing red one when the laptop communicates with it. Hope it's something that can be fixed because no money in the budget for car parts for a long while

It appears that the s300 has some burned chips. If that is the case it will have to be replaced. The cost of this is $250.

so $250 i send you this one and you send me one back? and doing so should solve the issue with uploading calibrations as well?
also how much to send it to you and get a v3 in return?

It would be $350 and you would need to call prior to shipping anything to obtain an RMA#.
