Background:

B20 dropped into a 16v CRX (1989) with obd1 p30 Hondata s300 ECU. Using rywire harness and td44u dissy. RC550cc injector (without resistor box). Running Hondata's b20 base map, (given on its software.) Smanager software 2.3.3 beta.

Situation:

Trying for the pass 3 days to get her started. Sometime she will start but runs like a 'pig'. Most time she won't start at all.

1st problem I have noticed is that the during cranking (and ticking over), the hondata software is saying the engine is doing +65 thousand rpm

What is causing this? The strange thing is, I've searched for odb1 P30 ecu pinout diagram and there is no 'rpm' tacho wire. The Tacho blue wire from the dissy goes straight to the cockpit instrument panel and not to the ecu. How does Smanager knows the rpm if there is no feed from the dissy?

I'm totally bamboozled on this....

It's not the tach wire - this just feeds to signal to the dash. It is the distributor / distributor wiring. If you check for error codes you'll probably find crank / cylinder error codes.
