S300V3 can't record while driving without laptop??

I just got in my s300 and my laptop is screwed up. I'm getting a new laptop this weekend or next week. So I have it hooked to my desktop computer to load a basemap for my vehicle. With the hondata cable I can hook up and record, but when I unplug it and try to drive and record my map it won't record and I can't push the record button to record. I've even try to set the on board datalogging to record when the engine reaches a specific rpm.

So how do I record data without the laptop?

Do I need a laptop to record my maps while I drive?

Make sure that all the parameters are being met in on-board datalogging.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I've put the engine rpm at 3000 rpm with 30% throttle and still nothing. After my driving I would hook up the s300 cable and try to download from the ecu but nothing. But I can record fine with my s300 connected to my desktop.
