S300 v3 Issue

I can upload to the ECU, make changes to my calibration etc but if I enable datalogging, shortly after my laptop shuts off completely even on a fully charged battery. My laptop is fine, as I can use it for hours on battery power with no issues.
This is a very weird problem and I've asked a few people I know who tune cars and they haven't heard of such an issue. Could it possibly be an install mess up? I had someone install it into the Factory P28 from my Del Sol which ran fine.
I'd also like to add that I'm using the recommended NGK 2668 spark plugs.

Have you tried a different laptop?

No I have not, but my laptop was working just fine with my friends S300 v1 so I'm almost certain my laptop isn't the issue. As I said, it only happens when I turn on datalogging and happens after a couple minutes no matter which USB port I use.
Are calibrations made prior to v3 and the updated software (2.3.1) compatible with v3? Also, why does the information window state that my current firmware is version 2? Shouldn't it be version 3?

Your firmware version is correct. You need to try with a different laptop. Are there any errors reported when you turn the computer back on? Does it just turn of instantly, or does it give you some kind of error or warning? What operating system are you using? Who makes the laptop?

No warning or error messages. Just turns right off like if you were to pull the battery. I will try another laptop and report back.
Sorry I didn't answer the rest of the question.

I tested with another HP laptop with Windows 8.1 and it worked fine aside from the datalogging dropping out in the higher RPM's. Does that mean R54 needs to be installed or what can I do to correct this issue?
So I guess my laptop is toast somehow? Could that be caused by previously using non-resistor type plugs? (Before I knew better)

I installed the resistor into spot R54 and now everytime I do a pull the datalogging drops and then a window pops up talking about updating the firmware. WTH is wrong here?! =/

I'll get a datalog when it's not raining.
Serial #:30306
Calibration:
SlicksDelSlo.skl
Vehicle: 1993 Honda Del Sol
ECU: P28
Mods:
B18C1
GSR ported and polished head
LS Crank
Eagle H Beam Rods
JE 9.0:1 Pistons
GT35R Turbo - 18psi
Edelbrock Victor X Intake Manifold
RC 750cc peak and hold (low impedance) injectors
Aeromotive Stealth 340 LPH Fuel Pump
Aeromotive A1000 Fuel Pressure Regulator @ 50psi base pressure.
-8 fuel feed
-6 fuel return
MSD cap, rotor, and wires (could also be an issue) I plan on switching to coil on plug.
Additional Information:
Laptop = HP DV6-6112nr running Windows 8.1
Relocated battery to trunk, main power wire (1 gauge) runs along-side engine harness and behind ECU wiring. Could this cause electrical interference which is causing my problem stated below?
Problem Description:
When datalogging doing a pull and it gets into the higher RPM range the datalogging drops and a pop up window displays stating my firmware needs to be updated.

The problem went away either because of the new software update or because I moved my main power cable away from the ECU.
