cold start issues

looking for some information. i have a s 300 in a non honda application and am wondering if there are ay rules of thumb for cold start info anything below 5 degrees (celicious) its very tough to start long long crank. fuel press is good spark is good i feel like it is the base pulse thats not correct? some help would be appreciated ill try to post my cal later
