Running an 05-06 K-pro temporarily

Good Day,

Long story short I found my ECU to be counterfeit and I was on a deployment with the military therefor my car sat for about 8-9 months.

I recently borrowed a PRB A08 Kpro from a friend however it is for his 05-06 type s that is currently down. I fully understand that this ECU is not made to be compatible with my setup, an 03 type-s swap.

Question:
Can I use this ECU to simply "putt" my car around to get the fuel out of it and put new gas in? It idles, runs, and drives well when driven very conservatively (shifting well below VTC engagement) and no more than 1/3 throttle.

I understand this is not an "ideal" situation but I need to get the fuel out and move it to its winter storage spot. The only Issue I have noticed on the short trip I took around the block is that VTC does not engage properly. Watching the logs the car never leaned out or anything that would be cause for alarm. If more info is needed please let me know.

THANK YOU!
-Craig

Rather than running it with the wrong ECU, why don't you just drain the fuel tank?

I have nowhere to put 12 gallons of fuel. I have already used up half the fuel. I suppose I could put it in another vehicle but I also want to drive my car a bit. You know, stretch it's legs. Iv been doing this now for 3 days with no issue. Eventually I will be buying the ECU and sending it back to be properly set up.

If you still have the ECU then you should be at least able to run to 4000 rpm by removing the KPro.
