Override radiator fan control Question

Does anybody know if the override radiator fan control (FANC) disables the OEM thermal fan switch (thermo switch)? For example, if your thermal fan switch turns the radiator fan on at 195 degrees and you have your FANC set to turn on at 200 degrees, will the fan turn on at 195 by the thermal switch or will the FANC option have DISABLED the thermal switch from functioning and only turn on the fan at 200 degrees?

Also, I do not have a VTEC pressure switch (JDM) and it also disabled in my Smanager tune.. but for some reason my VTP sensor is on. Can someone tell me what that is?

Regards

It cannot override the thermo switch. The Thermoswitch should always be the primary source of turning on the fan. The ECU control is a backup or if you would like to turn the fan on a little sooner.

What do you mean the VTP is on? Can you post a datalog and your calibration?

Okay then if that is true, my thermo switch must not turn the fan on until >200 degrees. I set my FANC to 200 (actually 199 because it changes to 199 for some reason when ever I input 200) and I drove around.. the first time the fan came on was at 200 and so did the FANC indicator. I know that my thermo switch works because I just bought it brand new from the Honda dealership and installed it last week. I guess it is normal for the OEM thermo switch to operate anywhere from 190-210 I've heard, is that true?

About the VTP, I noticed that in my sensors list the VTP sensor is "on" and the circle next to it is blue.

I am not familiar with saving datalogs, so I have no idea how to do that. Care to explain? I just ran some datalogging earlier to check if the FANC was operating how I thought and I guess the datalog did not save because I cannot find it. I will attach my calibration file though, will just that help?

Test your themo switch. Disable the fan control in the ECU and see when the fan comes on.

You must make a recording then save the recording to your hard drive when you are done.

I need to see a datalog, just the calibraiton will not tell me what is going on.

Ok tested my thermo switch and it turns the fan on at 199 degrees F. I believe I saved a recorded datalog. Let me know if this helps you figure out why the VTP sensor appears on (this does not affect performance at all, I am just curious). How exactly do you read these datalogs? When I open the file, you can't see much except for in graph. Is that all a datalog is supposed to contain?

I guess I don't really need my FANC to be enabled since my thermo switch is brand new.

The way th switch works is that if you do not have it connected at all it thinks that there is pressure. The sensor is a fail saife so that it makes sure there is sufficient oil pressure to activate vtec to avoid damage to the engine.

Yeah, I know what the VTEC pressure switch is for. I also know that I do not have the sensor hooked up because there is no switch in my VTEC solenoid. I was just wondering why the VTP says it is on.

So what did the datalog help you for? Does the tune look good?

I was checking to see what was happening when vtec was activated. As I said when the pressure sensor is unplugged it defaults to showing on all the time.
