When installing hondata it seems that it always pulls timing back 3-5degrees.
i.e. stock GSR ecu set timing to 16degrees BTDC. installed Hondata and timing was at 13degrees BTDC. ??? (idle timing was set at 16 and auto was 16). but the reading at the dist was off.
some cars i have to advance the distributor to full advance to get 16degrees BTDC.
this has happened on just about every car we have done.
we tune around it but haven't been able to figure out if we are doing something wrong.

Has anyone else experienced this problem (I'm also having it) and if so, other than moving the distributor found a solution.
I ask this because even with my distributor at full advance I can't get my timing on the mark. I had to advance my timing in the computer to 24 degrees and set my distributor in the middle to get it on the red line.
