VSS HELP

Hi, hope someone can help me,

we have fitted a quaife sequential gearbox (from a dc5) into a FD2 Racecar, unfortunately due to speedsensors not being compatible we have no vtec and get a cel after a few miles.

is there anyway to disable the VSS signal in the flashpro (like in kpro) so it will work ? or someway to trick the ecu so it thinks there is a speed pulse?


we are racing in a 24 hr race in spain in two weeks, the car leaves week sunday , so we dont have much time to sort . any help is much appreciated

No this cannot be disabled. IF you cannot use the original VSS then you will have to come up with the correct number of pulses oer wheel revolution and use triggers on the axles, hubs or rotors and a sensor that sends that signal to the ECU.

thanks for the reply, does it not just need to be a pulse of some description? surely the ecu only needs to know the car is moving so it will let us engage vtec.?

It needs the correct speed signal so it can calculate the gear it is in as there is also gear compensations.
