Re: help with a kal 04 type s
what you think Keto, is the kal looking ok or do I need to modify more. When retarding the ignition for knocks, do I just adjust it when the knock happens or do I adjust it throughout the whole length until the next knock?
Re: help with a kal 04 type s
I havent looked at the file yet, but it really depends. Sometimes I just adjust 1 box, or two, sometimes 4, even 6. Sometimes if its a single knock thats not reproduced, I might not touch anything.
I cant use KManager on my work computer but Ill try and rememebr when I get home.

You have to adjust 20° and 30° IGN maps in the area where knock ocured.ignitecivic wrote:what you think Keto, is the kal looking ok or do I need to modify more. In your case it is rectangular area - col 8,9,10 from 2000 to 2500. Substact -2 form IGN values in the map. Datalog to see if it helped.
Also AF should be a bit richer in that area (it should be around 13:1 over there).
So first fix that AFR, then adjust IGN.
Also your AFR after VTEC point at 4000 to 5250 is way too rich. Fix that to 12,5-13,2. The same goes to 7000+rpm (aim to 12,5 AFR there).

I got rid of all the knocks. Now I am trying to smooth out the air fuel ratio. If it A/R at 11.50 do I add fuel or reduce fuel??LK7R wrote:You have to adjust 20° and 30° IGN maps in the area where knock ocured.ignitecivic wrote:what you think Keto, is the kal looking ok or do I need to modify more. reduce. Looked at the updated kal and WOT fuel looks worse.
Pull 8-9% under 4000-5000 and then go back to the fuel maps you had previously after 5k.
You can use the "estimated fuel change" chart to give you a good idea of what needs to be done fuel wise in these places, but by no means do i consider the recommend values to be exact.
