Code 8

Post by da1hardee »

I had a check engine light come on. I jumped the connector because i forgot my laptop at home. It flashed 11 and 8. Once I got home, plugged up my laptop, it showed ONLY 11 on Hondata. I cleared it with Hondata....if I jump the connector on the car it still flashes 11 and 8, but the CEL light no longer comes on while driving. I did fix the coolant temp problem...that's what code 11 was. I've noticed that it's showing that my idle is 20-21 degrees....tried turning the dist but it doesn't change. Does it need to be done from my computer or maybe the dizzy is bad?

If you continue to get a code 8 it is most likely a distributor probelm. Try borrowing someone esles distributor and see if the problem persists or if it goes away.

no error codes show up when datalogging. double checked my timing with a light today and it matches the setting. BUT it doesn't match what hondata is displaying on sensors>engine outputs.
