Upload on a locked ecu

Hey guys,
So I had my ecu tuned a couple weeks ago, went to the drags last night and thought it would be good to throw a shift light on so I can try and get a bit quicker down the strip...
Turns out my tuner put a password on the ecu to 'protect his secrets'...
So after I hit enter, the ecu will start the car, will rev up to 2k rpm, then will kill the ignition.
I called the tuner and I have organized to go back to him Monday and he will reset the password. My question is to help him, does he just have to enter his password then reload the map for the ecu then it's good to go or is there more to it then that?
Cheers
