Flashpro open loop

Post by Jim_H »

Hi!
Just starting to tune with Flashpro, and I´ve noticed on the help contents:

· You do not need to switch the oxygen sensor off (open loop). The software will read the fuel trims and actual lambda in order to calculate the fuel change.

So I don´t have to put the ecu in open loop while tuning? If so, why is this? And if not, how do I put it in open loop? Can´t find it in the parameters.

And in the page "Hondata tuning method" you describe tuning WOT optimum, then tuning part throttle afterwards. Is this the
preferrable way to tune the Flashpro?

Best regards. / Jim

Tune in closed loop because switching to open loop changes the fueling. What I do is set the minimum and maximum short term trim to 0%.

I also usually tune full load, and make changes by rows/rpm, then tune the part throttle. This works best for engines still using the stock injectors / cams / intake manifold, otherwise you expect to have to make some changes by column at low load.

Thank you for the answer. Can/should you use this method(setting the short term fuel trim to 0%) for tuning the K-pro too or this is just for Hondas with AFM?

I have not tried the same thing with KPro but it should work. With KPro you can disable the primary o2 sensor to run in open loop.
