cpr wiring help

Post by civicstyle »

okay so i am about to wire my cpr finally in after having it set for quite some time
im reading over the instruction and in my opinion they are kinda vague.

maybe some body can clear it up for me
the orange and white wires coming off of the sync unit are pretty clear. you need to pin it into the correct spot.
but the power and ground your suppose to solder close the the ecu, but are you suppose to strip a section of the wire and solder the wire into it. or cut the wire and solder it? It sounds like to me you tap into the wire and solder it into it.

and my second question
when you connect the coil packs power wires (mine are black with the white stripe) do you solder all 4 of them to the dist. black with yellow strip?

sorry for all of the questions im just a very visual person and like to image what it going to be before i put it all together. Plus i have to get my terminal crimpers from my work to finish the install. i think once im all done it would be a good idea for me to post the install picture of it.

thanks in advance Scott.

You will need to striip back some of the insulation and then solder the wire to it and then shrink wrap the wire or tape it to insulate it.

The power and tach wires at the distribuutor you just crimp on the appropriate pin depending on if your IDstributor is OBD1 or OBD2, depin the existing pin in the distributor plug and insert the newly crimped on pin/wire from the CPR harness into the now empty slot in the distributor plug.

okay with the power wires and tach wire you are pulling out the pins on the distributor side of the connector removing the old wires. reinsert the 4 power wires tied together into the slot where you pulled the black and yellow wire. Then remove the blue wire and insert the purple wire into it's place. i just want to make sure this is correct.

also i can remove the un-needed ICM wire? then could i just remove the igniter all together

thanks for the help so far. i plan on taking pics of it to help anyone else out with this.

Yes that is correct.

Make sure it is all working properly before ripping out wires and disassembling the distributor.
