i have one of each... they both work.

The new one has a faster transfer speed, which makes no difference that I could tell when using it with Hondata.

From my experience, the cheap ones do not work. I have personally never seen any USB to serial adapter work for more than about 15 seconds and then crashing, but I have never seen a Keyspan adapter in use.

The Keyspan adapters work flawlessly. Do not get the cheap ones as you will end up bald and very frustrated trying unsucessfully to get them to work.
