MAP sensor protection

Post by 9queSt »

is there any ideas to protect against a map sensor failure. i.e. if im in the middle of a drag race @ 7000rpm and 25psi. the map sensor fails (vacuum line or wire failure). Smanager now drastically decreases fuel and increases timing.

How can I protect against this?

There is no way to protect against this. The map sensor is required for the engine to run correctly. You can use a wideband and use lean protection, but it cannot prevent a map sensor failure.

that would constitute no signal to the ECU. If a vacuum line comes off, then the signal is still there, so it won't go to 3000 rpm
