TDC sensor error code ( N°8)

Hi,

- S300 V2 => 20149 (ECU is a P30 EUDM)
- Smanager 2.1.5
- Error code (8 => TDC sensor)
- Car : proto vehicule with a B16A2

I have a problem. When I switch ON the ECU, the error code (Top dead center) appear. I start up the engine and clear ECU error code, the error code 8, disappear and never appear during the engine work (engine startup and work fine). If I switch OFF or the engine stalled, after 10seconds the error code appear and I must connect my laptop to clear the code... The big problem is, when I will stall the engine (at starting line during a race for example), I can't have my laptop with me, the error code will appear and I will not have the VTEC!!! (I lose 60Hp without VTEC)

I tried 2 distributors but same problems.
How can I do? Is there an easy and fast solution to this problem?

Thanks a lot.

This sounds like a wiring fault that is powering somethign up when it should not be and is then generatingan error code. I would suggest trying the ECU in a known working vehicle first and if everything checks out you know you need to look into the wiring on this vehicle.

I verified the wiring loom, I haven't find any problems compared to the electrical scheme... I can't have an other vehicule to test the ecu.
Is that possible that you made for me a Smanager version with the possibility to disable the number 8 error code? (I'll pay for it).

Thanks.

No, we will not modify the software to disable this error as this is more than likely caused by a wiring fault in this prototype vehicle. If this were a software bug then everyone with an s300 would experience this problem.

I never said that Smanager have a bug... I just asked a question. Thanks for the answer.

I think the cruise control is controlled by another computer.

But would It be possible to use the cruise button as an on/off for datalogging?

thanks
