HONDATA RPM Surges & Check Engine Light Blinks

Post by rickske »

I've been having this problem w/ my car where all of a sudden my car surges and my rpm's go up and down while the check engine light turns on and off. It's quite hard to explain, but it happens mainly when I try to start the car and it has also happened in one occasion when I was on the freeway. Then my cars dies. :( I've had the car tuned before by a reputable tuner around the southern california area so I believe that it's not a tuning problem. Or could it? I was wondering if anyone in this forum has ever encountered a problem similiar to this or can direct me towards some type of solution to my problem? Thank you very much.

My Setup
92 SI Hatch
D16Z6
HONDATA 200B
Greddy TD04 15g Turbo Kit
Jonnyracecar FMIC
DSM 450 cc Injectors
Greddy Turbo Timer
Greddy Boost Controller

Any help with this from HONDATA pros would be gladly appreciated. I've been out of my car for a good 2.5 months already and it's being a pain in the ass.

DSM injectors. I think there is a problem with them and HOndata. Get some RCs and check it.

CivicVTI - I was told that there were problems w/ the DSM injectors working w/ HONDATA, but the funny thing is when I got it tuned before, the car ran just fine for a good month or so. Does HONDATA just all of a sudden not work w/ DSM injectors after a while? And some people on Honda-Tech seem to be running HONDATA w/ DSM injectors just fine? Upon more research I checked that it could have been something to do w/ the ignition? Either way I know that I'm going to have to take it to a shop and fix it, but I was wondering if anyone ran into the same problem as this so that we can go directly to the source of the problem. This is getting frustrating. :(

So I was told to check the VAC lines from another forum and everything looked fine. Anyone else w/ this similiar situation that has a solution to the problem? Bump for a slow moving forum.
