obd2a p28 s300 on a crx

Post by mickyfick »

Ok this is my first post here on the HONDATA forum so please excuse my ignorance:

I'm currently running a obd1 p28 on my crx with a d15b vtec with the addition of a obd0 to obd1 rywire jumper & vtec subharness.

I recently purchased a HONDATA p28-obd2a wtih an s300 (modded by HONDATA) from a buddy of mine that works for a reputable supercharger company.

I'd like to run this ecu on my current setup but I'm worried about the problems I may encounter. Will this ecu try to find a secondary O2 sensor input amoungst the other sensors that are need to run this ecu? I looked at the SManager software a little bit to see if you could disable sensors from being read and I can't really find much. I saw that you could disable the secondary O2 heater but is that the same as hinder the input from the sensor completely? Any other problems that I dont' foresee?

My plan is to buy a rywire obd0 to obd2a harness and try to run this ecu with a p08 base map. Any light on this subject would be greatly appreciated. If this goes as well as I hope to add a supercharger on my setup.

your OBD2 P28 is just a "normal" P28, with a build in adapter.

you could use that with an adapter, but then you have an adapter on an adapter on an adapter. if that is the right solution?

just let your OBD1 ECU being changed, that the S300 fits there and everything will be great

Thanks for the info Lukas!

I don't like the idea of using an adapter as it only compounds troubleshooting so I will take your advice and just get my existing ecu socketed. I was trying to avoid this only to prevent the non-use of my daily driver.

Appreciate the info!

with that being said I guess I'll check and see if there is a classified section in this forum lol!
