I need to know the part number for the ITR (DC5r) K20a ecu. I believe the correct part number to be: 37820-PRC-023 ?????
What ecu is part number: 37820-PND-902 ??
That is the part number of an ecu I sold and told to be for the k20a.
Read on further if you want to see how the PND ecu performed on my k20a2. Thanks!
Vehicle = 2002 RSX-S
Having a bit of a situation when I install my ITR (k20a) ECU on my k20a2..
Let me first cover the basic history and a list of my engine mods:
Icebox Air Intake
ITR Intake Manifold, Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket
ITR Intake & Exhaust Camshafts
ITR Exhaust Manifold
ITR Cat and o2 Sensors
Greddy SP2 Catback Exhaust
Long story short I spliced into the yellow/green tracer wire coming from the fuel relay and grounded it in a secure location....This is to bypass the Type S immobilizer and allow the ITR ecu to function properly (aside from the annoying green key blinking in the gauge cluster).
Anyway, the car starts right up with the ITR ecu....Minus the nice little CEL after about 5seconds. But it idles perfectly fine. The problem lies in revving at or past 2400rpm.....Keeping the revs steady at 2400rpm (i mean 2400, and not 2500) the revs will begin to bounce between 2400 and 2000. Yes, the car will rev 2400 then to 2000 then back to 2400 then to 2000 and continue this until you let off the throttle. It does not bounce like that at any other rpm...only at 2400. However, revving past 2400rpms the car just sounds BAD. Its kind of jolts a bit, stutters, and shakes all at the same time. Its a very nasty rev but it will continue to climb the tach until you let off the throttle..
Switching back to the Type S ecu the car is 100% perfect (keep in mind the yellow/green tracer wire is still grounded). No issues whatsoever at any rpm....The only problems I am having is when I plug in the ITR Ecu.
Does any one
know what the issue is here, any similar experiacnes? The rev bounce thing almost sounds like a type of 'limp mode' on the itr ecu. Either that or its just plain whacked out from some type of sustained damaged to the circuit board???
Much thanks to Swwifty as he has been trouble-shooting this issue with me throughout the day. The conclusion we've come to is that the ITR Ecu is trashed... Take a look at this pic- you can see white residue on the back inside as well as 3 rusting screws. It doesnt look good. Any ideas!???!?!?!? Thanks!
