v tech not engaging after installing k pro III

I recently installed k pro III in my 03 acura rsx type s. its running good, only problem is v tech is not engaging
I don't have many other mods, just exhaust and intake, vtech cracked hard before k pro was installed.
I have not had a tune... any ideas what this can be and how to make it engage?
