CPR TACH wire

I am preparing for a test install of my CPR kit on a B16A engine. I have a couple of questions about installation the kit, especially the wiring of the CPR control module so I would like to ask them one by one here. My first question is about the TACH wire. According to the installation manual, this is to be connected to the distributor TACH output. At the end of the manual, the pinout of the CPR control module socket labels this wire as "Output to tachometer". So I want to ask whether this wire is for the CPR control module to output the signal to the tach, or to receive the TACH/RPM signal from the distributor ? Do I disconnect the TACH wire from the smaller 2-wire socket of the distributor or do leave that connection intact and splice (i.e. 'connect') this CPR control module wire into the wire/connection.

Many thanks for any and all answers given.

This is a tach output signal from teh CPR which will drive the Tach itself. You Disconnect the wires at the Distributor plug and use the supplied pins to repin the plug so it makes for a clean install.

Thank you. It is as I expected. So the small 2-wire connector for the OBD1 distributor is no longer used as the other wire is for IGN Power which I will also hook up to the CPR harness and is recommended to disconnect from the coil inside the distributor. This makes for a clean install, and, if I get a spare socket, also a clean de-install (should I need to do so). So the only small complication will be the ICM wire which is part of the large socket.

Thanks.

An additional question for the CPR installation/wiring.

In the help/install guide, there is this following instruction
"7. Remove the ICM wire from the coil."

I want to ask if this step is absolutely mandatory. Will I destroy the ignition module or the coil if I leave the ICM wire connected to them inside the distributor, i.e. they are still receiving the ICM signal but with the IGN (Power) disconnected, the coil won't fire.

Thanks in advance for the answer. I will explain why all these relatively simple questions when/if I get the CPR working in my car.

Just disconnect the wire at the ECU by dipinning it.

Thanks. If I depin at the ECU side, it will be tedious if I need to 'de-install', i.e. revert back to the distributor based system especially at the road-side. I need an easy de-install, especially if the engine stalls on the road and I need to quickly revert back to the distributor system at the road-side. I have found an easy way to do this so will go this route until I can keep the CPR, then I will depin on the ECU.

Thanks again.
