Connection Error

Is data logging required to connect and get ECU information with the hondalogger?

If not, why am I getting "Connection Error"?

If it is, do I need to send my hondata in for the upgrade or is it just a serial number entered into to hondalogger?

I have a basic s200

IF you did not purchase the datalogging option, you will not be able to datalog. Youcan purchase the dataloggin optioin ffom anh Hondata dealer.

I didn't ask about data logging. I asked if I could open the "Hondalogger" program and click ECU -> "ECU Information". To me I should be able to click that and it would say "hey, you don't have datalogging". Instead I get "can't connect"

This looks like where I would put in a serial number which I would purchase from hondata to enable the data logging. So if I can't connect to it through there how is data logging going to be enabled? That would be my second question.

If you're going to treate me like an idiot could you at least read my entire post and use correct spelling?

I'm not saying this to make you sound stupid but you are having some sort of connection problem. I have tried this and it will say datalogging not enabled or something. So if you can't connect then you're just doing something wrong connecting. Check to make sure the com ports are set right in the OS and the hondalogger settings and make sure that the serial port is working.

Thank you, that was the answer I was looking for. I wanted to confirm I was having a connection problem. I think it's because all I have are Dell computers.

Now can someone tell me the procedure that takes place when I purchase data logging? Do I need to send it in for the upgrade?
