Need some advice!!

Post by 1Fast Si »

OK.... I just installed the Jackson Racing stage 2 boost upgrade on my 2000 Si. When I start the car up it has a very unstable idle which jumps from 500 to 1500 and then back and forth. When the car is warm, however, the idle is more stable but it bogs down and when I come to a stop it just shuts off. The exhaust also smells as though it is running way too rich. I have tried unplugging the purge solenoid, but that didn't work. I have checked for vaccuum leaks, but have found none. Can anyone suggest anything else that may solve this problem... or does it just sound like a tuning issue? Any help is much appreciated.

The idle 500-1500 very well could be the IACV or Fast Idle valve even (Not sure if yours has this).

The too rich is a tuning issue.
