Greddy boost control solenoid

hi, i was wondering should i install a diode with the bcs...im running kpro2-s2000..
i tested the solenoid and its drawing 280mA .. i read some search results but still didnt find answer.
also is the hardware/firmware upgradabe to krpo 3.
