Hi,

This is the setup of my car:

JDM B18C
JRSC/LHT
ID 725 injectors
Fuel pump wired directly to battery
Hondata S300

My problem started around a year ago. The engine light would stay on when I turn the Ign on. I would have to wait 5-20 minutes for the engine light to turn off, then the fuel pump would start and I would be able to turn the car on. Weird thing is, it only does it when you leave it for a while. If Ive just driven it and the car is warm, I could easily start it again like normal. But if I leave it overnight, or even not drive it a few days, Ive tried waiting 30 minutes before the engine light would turn off, then activating the fuel pump.

I uploaded a B16A map and tried it on my friends Stock EG6, and also had to wait, so I thought it should be the ECU's problem.
I bought a working P30 and transferred the S300 over and it still didnt work.
I recently borrowed a friends perfectly working S300 on a P28

I turned on IGN, and the engine light would turn off after a couple seconds like it should, and the fuel pump would start when I turn the key like it should. Hoping my car will start, it didnt.....

I got 3 error codes:
15 Ign output signal
16 FUel injectors
21 Vtec spool

Would could be the problem?

What is the code on the side of the ECU that you are using that is giving the error codes?

I also forgot to mention, these codes don't appear when I turn on ign. It's only when I try to start the car and crank it 8-10 times without success, then the codes appear.

Waht is the complete code on the side of the ECU.

That ECU may not have the circuitry so you may have to disable the injector error in Misc Paramters. Have you followed the troubleshooting steps in the factory service manual for the other erors you are getting?

I had the same problem...I was advised by Hondata to just buy a new ECU

Is it possible to send the S300 back to Hondata to have them see whats wrong with it and have it fixed?

I don't know... That's a question for a moderator... But I believe they charge like $50 just to look at it... Before they tell u if its repairable or not :-/

If the ECU is damaged you would have to replace it as we do not repair ECUs. From what you have described you will need to replace the ECU. The s300 is ok and just needs to be put into a working ECU.

My s300 was in another ecu previously. I just put it into this p28. The p28 was working perfectly before the s300 install.
That's why I would like to send it in to check of there is a problem with the s300.

Try swapping the distributor from a known working car. Since you tried a known working ECU and s300 in your car and it still did not work it indicates a problem with the distributor or wiring.

That's why I wanna send it in to get it checked out.

test YOUR S300 in your friend's ECU, so you know, if it's a S300 problem or an ECU problem.
