Fuel Compensation Tables still have impact in open loop

Post by Martgsr »

In this thread http://www.hondata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=14503
i was asking if I can have some fuel trim in open loop since i don't have a stock o2 sensor.
Hondata's answer was : "There cannot be any fuel trims in open loop without a stock O2 sensor."

But I tried something yesterday.
I was still in openloop with only my AEM WB o2 sensor.
I changed the value in - Fuel Compensation - Air Temperature Compensation - Idle and light engine Load :
and Under the 86 value, i put 99.
I tried to start the car, and it was bugging and running at 10:1 on my A/F gauge !
I changed back the value to 0, and I was getting a nice clean idle and my 14/15:1 af ratio.
So is this normal that i can still have some Fuel modifier in that table without my STOCK o2 sensor and running open loop ?

IAT and ECT corrections have nothing to do with an oxygen sensor and running closed or open loop.

Ok thank you !
In my mind, "fuel trim" was including those IAT /ECT corrections.
