I have a 99 Civic with a JDM B18C swap. P72 obd1 ECU chipped with Hondata S300 with boost control. I have been using this ECU flawlessly for 5-6+ years with this setup untouched. Motor is sleeved, rods/pistons, ID1000 injectors, walbro 255 in tank with a bosch external pump, precision 6262 turbo. The car has been running great, put a ton of miles on an older not built setup. Rebuilt the motor, larger turbo, more fuel, etc. I have about 1,800 miles on it now. Drove it a bunch this summer, pump gas tune of 20psi and race gas tune of 31. We went back to they dyno last week and we were tuning for more psi on race gas. Previously we maxed out the wastegate spring at 31psi. We were in the middle of a 33psi pull when vtec was lost. We have traced everything and concluded that its in the ECU itself. Continuity was traced back to the ECU to be good. Oil pressure is good, coolant temp is good, throttle percentage is at 50% and is good, minimum mph is set to 1 mph. Tested the VTEC solenoid by touching a 12v wire to it and we could hear it click over. Swapped my VTEC solenoid out with a buddies whose worked. His didn't work on my car but mine worked on his, so that was good. Finally took my ecu out and replaced it with another P72 w/S300 and boost control and it worked flawlessly. We went through and resocketed the hondata s300 in my ecu and that didn't do anything. What are my options for tracing this out and fixing it? I believe its something inside the ecu itself. Can resistors go bad? Code # 21 VTEC Spool comes up. Swapping out ecu's using the same map, this code does not come up. I have the map attached but do not have a log of the issue with me on this computer. I can try contacting my tuner to see if he still has the logs. Please help.
Thank You so much for your time!!!

Re: Loss of Vtec on Dyno
Make sure non of the components are loose or damaged inside the ECU. If you cannot see a problem it is best just to replace the ECU with a working one.
