s300 loses map after ignition shut off

just got my race car together and im having issues with my s300. engine is a mildly built b20 vtec with a version 1 s300 i bought new. i checked it out and it isnt a fake. the ecu is a p28 i got from a friend. he was having a issue with the fuel pump control side working and since i would be using a toggle switch to arm fuel pump i picked it up. its wired with a rywire race harness, moroso switch panel, and fuse block and relays i wired up. everything powers up and wiring seems fine. when i load a base map a friend altered for my id 725 injectors it will start and run fine. the red light turns green once the download is completed. once i turn ignition off and i start again the red light goes on and wont start. no real time data just frozen. i have to close program, leave key on, and reinstall same map and light goes green and starts. once i shut down everything and power up i download map from ecu and its totally different from my program. the dead times and fuel trims and ignition map if completely different and screwed up. dont know what else to try. anyone got any ideas???

are you using the test upload button? because i believe that temporarily loads until ignition is shut off.

I don't know? Im I first time hondata user. Im a mechanic by trade. But don't really do much performance work. Im going to load program then using upload arrow button. Is that correct?

I also forgot to mention that I have the software and drivers updated to the latest calibrations

is there gonna be any charge for diag? i bought it at the begining of this year and just got the car running last week. also approximately what kind of a time frame are we looking at. im trying to get ready for a race next month. i was trying to make things work tonight and found that if it stays on for about 20-30 minutes the light went from red to green and the map i tried before was in. almost like it had to warm up???!!!

i got a rma # and will be sending my p28 and s300 back for diagnostics on monday. i will post the results as soon as i get it.

just received s300 and my p28 back. diagnosis was defective board or chip on s300 according to invoice. now hold map and doesnt erase. problem solved, thanks
