Where to run switched ignition 12v source for Boost solenoid

Post by WaZe_One87 »

So I just got my Boost Solenoid kit from K series parts.com in Colorado Springs.

So now I am planning out my install as i await for my ECU to come back from being socketed for boost control by Hondata. I understand everything as far as vacuum lines, and running a pin to the ECU to A11. However I'm curious as to the cleanest most reliable 12v ignition switched source to use. Should i tap into the ignition with a in line 10A fuse? Or should i extend the wire and try to run to my under dash fuse box? I think the fuse box would be a cleaner install, but where should i send it, and will extending the power wire further have any negative effects on the solenoid opperation? Below are the under dash fuse/relay diagram and list of fuse components. Let me know what you guys think.

Also, on a side note, i noticed my solenoid kit didnt come with any pins to attach to the wire. Are there any places i could pull a pin? I have a couple unused sensor clips that have cut wires. . would they be the same size as the ECU pins if i were to pull them individually? Unfortunately I should have asked for Hondata to send a couple back when they send my ECU back lol. That way the turn around time is about the same as the computer.

Check C915-C919, one of them will be switched power. No other pins will fit the ECU plugs. You will need to get the proper pin, or get a pin and some wire from a junk yard car (the best option).

Thanks spunkster. So there won't be any weird effects from running the wire a little longer then? I can't imagine there would be but considering how specific the temp and vacuum lengths are, doesn't hurt to ask.

Just wanted to throw some praise into this post. HONDATA IS FREAKING AMAZING! so my ecu came back today and low and behold. . . they sent some ecu pins with it! I dont know if they saw this thread or if they just do that as a standard. . . but either way they gave me exactly what i needed. Saving me time and a little bit of money even! haha anyways thats all i had to say. . Just kinda happy about my surprise haha. Thanks Hondata!
