new to hondata, need help with engine knocking

Post by mpbrus »

Hi all,

I'm new to hondata and tuning cars. I just did my first tune, and used one of the preloaded tunes.

Car : 2007 Civic Si

Tune used : K&N short ram filter

Upgrades to car : K&N short ram, 3" invidia Q300 exhaust.

My question is how do I address engine knocking, I'm using 91 octane fuel. Getting 28 knocks in a 21 min drive. I am unsure where to start and how to go about this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its an AFM tune.

I know its been awhile, not sure why you would be told to disable the knock sensor and linked to it but yadda yah... your part throttle and WOT ignition values are horrid at 30 degrees of cam angle and needs to be changed. How new are you to tuning? Hondata is one of the more complicated tuning platforms out there and if its your first car to tune, you need to read a few books or go to school to learn something else and then apply the knowledge backwards to tune flashpro.

Also just noticed your AFR's under WOT go from 11.2 to 12.8 so your fueling is off but probably due to ignition via knock if that makes sense.
Diablo Sport, Kpro, Flashpro, AEM EMS, Delta Dash, Access Port, G4 EMS, SCT Pro, Livewire, X3 Power Flash, HPtuner Pro, Diablo tuning experience, still plenty out there.
