s300 cel stays on wont start

I have been running s100 for about 4 years now, I just upgraded to s300 which I bought from a friend. the ecu and s300 were brand new never had a map loaded onto it and never hooked up to a car before I got it. With my s100 the car runs fine and no problems. plug in the s300 and red light stays on by the usb port, sometimes not lit at all. When I play with the plug it will light up red or turn off entirley, and the cel stays on even after fuel pump primes. I loaded a map and car wont start. when I try to datalog to see whats going on my sensors show crazy values like tps 93% and injector duty 100$ when not touching the throttle. and says there are 4 fault codes but when I open the window this is what shows up

1-o2a
3-map
5-map
6-ect
8-tdc
10-iat
11-oh
15-igm
17-vss
19-auto lock up
21-vts
23-ks
24-ks
31-atb
41-o2 heater
0-unknown
0-unknown

all in that exact order.
the car is a manual and knock, o2, eld, map and injector error are all disabled.

is it a bad ecu? bad s300?
and the car still runs fine with the s100

thanks
Brian

and he purchased the ecu with the s300 professionally installed from a website but it was like 4 years ago so I dont think they will warranty it even with the reciept authough I have not tried to contact them yet. he never used it because the car he was going to put it in got totaled

Download and install the latest software version. http://hondata.com/updates/index.php?ap ... n=download

Make sure the software detects the s300 once you switch on the ignition. Select a base calibration & upload.

I have allready downloaded version 2.1 and the red light by the ish is not always on but when I play with the plug and it lights up I can upload a map. But the cell stays solid and throws the codes listed, I have tries different maps with the same outcome

Download and install from the link above again. Which red light, and what do you change to get the light on (sounds like a poor contact somewhere).

I will try downloading link tonight, and if I lay with the usb plug of pull the top cover off ecu and put pressure or pull on the board lightly

This sounds like a poor ECU socketing job. Who converted it from the s100 socketing to the s300 socketing?

it is a completely different ecu. I have a feeling it is a socketing issue but have looked at all the solder points on the socketing and it looks solid

the version you linked me was the same one I allready had but re-downloaded it anyway and same issue. I will try to post a pic of the board and solder ponts

Check to make sure it is seated on all the pins correctly. If you still have problems, try it in another ECU that you know works.

ok so finally got a buddy of mine to bring his s300 over so we could test the ecu/s300.. put his s300 in my ecu and same issues.. put my s300 in his ecu and works fine!. so started comparing out boards. We both have p28's and found a difference, his ecu has a capacitor in spots c52 and c51. Mine does not. am I right to assume this is the issue? I have alot of experience soldering and was wondering what size capacitors I can solder in those spots? both of his have the number 103 with a line overtop of the 103. if I can find what resistance these are then I can solder them in and it should work.

on a side note: yay to getting to start my car after 2 1/2 months!!!

THe capacitors are not needed. There is obviously a problem with the ECU. It may be socketing related or it may just be damaged.
