Hondata

The autotune instructions say that it only autotunes the highlighted area. When I press ctrl A the whole table goes blue "as if I had selected all". Now does that mean that the whole table is being autotuned? or that the area with the "invisible" red cursors is the only part being tuned? I say "invisible" because after pressing ctrl A and the entire table is highlighted you cannot see the red cursors. Thank you in advanced for any help offered.

haha, I just started laughing at myself as I read your reply. It dawned on my what I was doing.. I just became a dealer and have 5 cars to install and tune the systems on right away!!! I feel like I have gone back to EET school!!! haha Thank you for the help.

I am going to try my hand at the autotune deal and see how it goes. I would not even think of using it for wot tuning. I have been tuning the apexi and other like units for over 6 years now and the greddy emanage for just under a year. I have done some minor tuning with the AEM unit, "didn't like it". I should be able to pick up on all of the in's and out's quickly. I am offering these first few customers of mine a " IOT " "I owe tune" haha. I am sure in 6 months I will be much better at tuning the hondata systems than I am now so I am going to offer to retune their cars for free in a few months. Just want to make them as happy as possible.

You could also email me their "Maps" and Datalogs and I will look them over if you like. I am pretty good at Hondata.

Thank you for the offer, I might take you up on that sometime. Everything as far as the actual tuning portion of my "HONDATA" experience is going GREAT! I have no complaints, a monkey could figure out how to tune the S200 system. There have been some problems and issues along the way but between the fourm and Hondata they have been small problems that were fixed quickly.

I learned to not like the autotune feature either. I used it a few times and it just chops up the map into a bunch of peaks and valleys.

There's a few tricks with autotune.

You need to perform a run on a dyno (or long, straight road) in about 3rd gear and try to keep the column selection on the map running straight down two columns. e.g. make the 4 squares run from 2000 rpm to 6000 rpm straight down columns 4&5

Do one run, trying to keep the throttle as stready as possible, and hold down CTRL+A once the air/fuel has stabilized.

After the run, quickly smooth out any peaks & valleys.

Do two runs per columns, then move on to the next column. You'll find that you can do less than column 2 or so.

Afterwards you should have a reasonable part throttle map. I got some cars to run within 0.1 AF point from target.
