Hi,
When i went to leave work my car started and then about 4 seconds later it just cut out. I have tried starting it and keeping the revs up abit, but still cuts out. I have a CTR EP3, and it also has a KPRO. Stuck it in a computer and got these 2 errors:
P1298 - ELD Circuit High Voltage
P0341 - Variable Valve Timing (VTC) Phase gap
Could either of these be the problem with the car not starting properly?
Thanks for the help
Nick

Re: Car not starting
Please be carefull! It is possible that your timingchain has skipped a tooth or two! How much miles/km are on it? If you wanna know for sure take off your rockercover and look at the marks on the side of your cams. Online you can find how-to's. I doubt it has something to do with the use of krpo..

Hi,
Thanks for your help. its on 120k, i've seen that posted around so will give that a go this weekend
Would this cause the engine to cut out after a short period?
If any body else has any suggestions, please more the merrier
Thanks

Re: Car not starting
I have spoken to someone i know and they suggest this probably isnt the case, as he said it wouldnt stay running for 5-10 seconds everytime. He said it would turn over once and just seize and never turn back on
What you reckon?

Re: Car not starting
Have you followed the troubleshooting steps for those errors in the factory service manual?
Re: Car not starting
Hi,
I haven't no, but i dont want to go down this road and it not be the cause of the main issue.
Do you think these errors could cause my problem?
Thanks

Re: Car not starting
Step one is to troubleshoot known error codes.
