Car not starting

Post by nickb1 »

Hi,

When i went to leave work my car started and then about 4 seconds later it just cut out. I have tried starting it and keeping the revs up abit, but still cuts out. I have a CTR EP3, and it also has a KPRO. Stuck it in a computer and got these 2 errors:

P1298 - ELD Circuit High Voltage
P0341 - Variable Valve Timing (VTC) Phase gap

Could either of these be the problem with the car not starting properly?

Thanks for the help

Nick

Please be carefull! It is possible that your timingchain has skipped a tooth or two! How much miles/km are on it? If you wanna know for sure take off your rockercover and look at the marks on the side of your cams. Online you can find how-to's. I doubt it has something to do with the use of krpo..

I have spoken to someone i know and they suggest this probably isnt the case, as he said it wouldnt stay running for 5-10 seconds everytime. He said it would turn over once and just seize and never turn back on

What you reckon?

Have you followed the troubleshooting steps for those errors in the factory service manual?

Do you think these errors could cause my problem?

Step one is to troubleshoot known error codes.
