Hondata

I'm tuning my JRSC'd Civic SI with a Hondata S200. When it's cold out the car starts and idles great. Except now that it's getting warm out I sometimes have to step on the throttle and hold the throttle at ~20% for a minute to get the car to start and keep it running. But after a minute the idle AFR is perfect.

The car runs around 10AFR when I first start the car. Also when I take off the gas cap with the car running, the engine dies soon after. Any suggestions??

I noticed a couple posts from Hondata and Fox30 with some possibly related issues:
1) I have a 160 degree thermostat (colder then stock and not recommended by Hondata)
2) I've replaced the OBDII with OBDI but my throttle body remains stock (ie. no "cold idle valve" as Fox30 is suggesting)

Here are the values in the Injector size settings of my ROM:
Injector multiplier: 0 .413
cranking fuel adj: 0.6
throttle tip in adf: 0.6
ECT fuel adj: 1
Post start fuel adf: 1

Have you tried lowering your cranking fuel adjustment? 0.413 would be a good starting point.

No, actually noticed Hondata recommends cranking fuel adj should match injector multiplier (as you are suggesting). I'll try this. The map I'm using is actually a Hondata JRSC big boost base map so this might have just been an oversight.

Your ECT turn down to .7. Do the same for Post fuel.

What injectors do you have?

Disconnect the purge solenoid located on the intake manifold (just the plug, not the lines)

I tried this now, I think I needed to do this anywise since my AFR is a little high immediately after start, HOWEVER, this does not fix the specific issue. But I do appreciate your input. Definately needed to be done.

so this fix seems to be working, however I'm concerned about leaving the purge solonoid valve unplugged. I've heard fuel pressure can build up if unburned hydrocarbons are not allowed to vent back into the system to be burnt...

ie. fuel actually pouring out the gas cap

now I'm not sure if I should just put up with the origonal issue or worry about pressure build up?
