Datalogging issue

Post by surfingsk8r »

Ok heres the deal. On my car I have had the same ECU with the same Hondata S300 For about 4 years now, never had any problems with it and I have changed engines and retuned 3 times in that time period. Today with my new engine and turbo setup I was trying to datalog so I could start tuning the car and it would datalog fine untill 5500 RPM almost exactly everytime. Now I know that it says in the help file that Electrical interference can cause this but I have NGK plugs part number BKR9EIX which are resistor plugs and also NGK wires which are also resistor, so Im thinking its not my ignition and also the ignition system has always been the same on all engines and this is this first time I have had this problem I did start to disable things in the parameters window thinking it was something extra that I was overlooking and the funny thing is when I disabled the launch control it would let me datalog correctly but I do not see how that had any bearing on it. So I guess Im asking If anyone has any idea of what might be causing this or has had this issue please help. Also I dont have a saved log or calibration file on this computer but I can upload one tomorrow if necessary. Thanks in advance for the help.

Remove and clean the main harness ground (to the thermostat), the ground to the valve cover (not that it should go to the stud, not the valve cover itself) and the transmission ground.

We did this as well as wrapped insulation around the wires going to and around the ECU that seems to have done it. Thanks for the reply.
