Question about disabling VTC

Building a harness for a K app and was wondering:

When VTC is disabled, is the CPM sensor ignored?

Reason I ask is because noticed the D17 does not appear to have a CPM reference.

Yes, with vtc disabled the exhaust cam sensor is not used.
